Flexfab is widely recognized as a leading manufacturer of high-performance silicone hoses, tubing, and ducting for demanding applications across multiple industries. But beyond the products they’re known for, Flexfab is equally committed to investing in people, culture, and community.

At Flexfab, being a leader, innovator, educator, and community supporter is more than a statement—it’s a philosophy that comes to life through its internship program—an initiative designed not just to develop skills, but to shape confident, well-rounded professionals.

The program is led by Stanley Meelker, Learning and Development Manager at Flexfab, whose passion for mentorship is evident.

“Seeing what they’re capable of is really inspiring,” Stanley shared.

When Stanley joined Flexfab in 2023, the internship experience was fairly informal. Over the past two years, Flexfab has intentionally transformed it into a structured, purpose-driven program that provides meaningful, real-world experience. Interns are placed in departments such as Engineering, Human Resources, Supply Chain, IT, Purchasing, and Research & Development, where they work on real projects that contribute to the business.

This is not a program built around busy work. Interns are trusted, supported, and encouraged to grow. Along the way, they gain exposure to leadership, business operations, and team collaboration, helping them build both technical knowledge and essential soft skills.

One of the most consistent pieces of feedback interns share is the strength of Flexfab’s culture. Interns frequently describe feeling respected, trusted, and genuinely part of the team—an environment shaped by Flexfab’s Humble HEARTS Values, which emphasize honesty, excellence, accountability, respect, teamwork, and support.

For Stanley, the program’s impact goes far beyond professional development.

“It’s easy to assume every young person has a support system behind them, but that’s not always the case,” he said. “Knowing I can help guide and mentor young adults is incredibly fulfilling. It’s just as rewarding for me as it is for them.”

As Flexfab continues to evolve its internship program, including exploring future co-op opportunities, one thing remains clear: while Flexfab is a leader in silicone manufacturing, it is equally committed to developing people and strengthening the communities it serves.
